This is a near perfect film. I have a heard a number of people comment on the depressing view Haneke presents. I disagree with this view. This is beautiful and passionate view of two people in love dealing with finding themselves forced into a very dark corner.
If there was anything depressing about this film is how a couple so devoted have failed to connect with their daughter who seems painfully lost. Brilliant on every level.
