Critics: AMAZING! BEAUTIFUL! POETIC! me: *sigh* BOOOOORING!

This movie just tiring to sit through. here's an example of the experience: you're 10 years old, you're forced to sit on this wooden bench for an hour or so that feels like an eternity. I was just begging for it to end. I got up from my seat to get snacks at times without the worry of missing anything, because NOTHING happens. I understand how personal this was to the film director, Michael Haneke, and I am a huge lover of art house cinema that breaks new rules for film. I loved Tree of Life, I loved Drive, I loved all these Palme O'dr winners at Cannes except for this and another bore-fest that Director Haneke made called "the White Ribbon", in which things do happen, but nothing is explained, no answers are present, and the story went nowhere. it's not like Gus Van Sant's film "Elephant", where everything is slowed down to show how senseless a school shooting was, or how to make an anti violence picture, you have to drain the violence to show how horrific it is. this story had so many opportunities for strong, heartbreaking Drama, and there are small hints at it, but as I watch it, I wish it could have shown less realism, and more Drama. of course, I am in the Minority of the audience who dislikes this film, and maybe there are things I'm missing here, but good god, SHOW SOMETHING! DO ANYTHING TO KEEP MY INTEREST! PLEASE!
