Review of Amour (2012) by Jonathan P — 14 Sep 2013
Slow moving and solemn Amour is hailed mostly for its haunting ending which is only effective because of the age of the protagonists. In no way am I discrediting Amour as the direction by Haneke is a perfect set up to the shocking ending.
Amour is fantastically acted and deserves any accolades dealing with that facet but the overall glum and slow moving story is nothing more than average without the controversial ending.
