Review of Amos & Andrew (1993) by Sol H — 23 May 2011
A great concept (Sam Jackson is a rich, successful businessman who buys a holiday home on an island off the coast of America. The residents and police see a black man with lots of electronic equipment as he moves in and presume he's a thief. Once they realise who he is, they've already surrounded his house and to avoid embarassment, they send a small-time criminal played by Nicolas Cage in to pretend to be who they're after. Obviously, things go wrong). Unfortunately, there's few actual jokes to support the comedy. Even so, it's a nice, easy watch with good performances all round -it's just a little bit bland.
6/10.
