Review of Amos & Andrew (1993) by Cli O — 06 Dec 2008
A pretty much forgotten comedy that stars Samuel L. Jackson as a successful writer named Andrew Sterling who has just moved in to a house in a white surburb and is mistaken for a burglar by a couple of racist neighbors.
The police gets involved and soon discovers Sterling's identity and has to cover up their 'fuck up' by sending in a stupid crook named Amos Odell (Nicolas Cage) to take Sterling "hostage" to hide the police bad judgment before it becomes a scandal.
"Amos & Andrew" has some fun moments and is worth checking out, even if it's hardly the best work of either of the two top billed actors.
