Review of Amores Perros (2000) by Adriaan T — 19 Dec 2008
It was a good movie, though not as good as I expected. I guess I had high expectations. What is to be loved about this though is how the 3 stories all weave into one. While a movie typically focuses on one set of characters and the story revolves around their lives, amores perros managed to tell 3 different stories and on several occasions, through different angles point out how one story connect to the others.
Dubbed 'Love's A Bitch', one finds various interpretations of this adage- whether it's in lusting after somebody else's woman, dealing with a depressed disabled, and getting into the life of someone who thinks you no longer exist-while living a lonesome life.
Not to forget the love for non-humans (dog), which was in every single story.
