Review of Amores Perros (2000) by Dennis D — 26 Aug 2009
I thought this is a Pedro Almodóvar's movie before I watched it; but no, it's a movie of a mexican director - Alejandro González Iñárritu.
Checked his profile on IMDB and found he is actually the director of 21 Grams(haven't watched yet) and Babel(another one of my favorite) !!!
Amores Perros was filmed in 2000 (3 yrs before 21 Grams), and it's a very powerful film that told 3 separate, though intervening, stories. Three stories chained together by the theme of love, betrayal, selfishness, dream and hope...and dogs of coz.
Though the movie is a bit long (about 2 and half hours), but the richness of the film and the excellent story telling makes it a very gd watching experience. Highly recommend.
