Review of Amores Perros (2000) by Mikey R — 06 Jun 2010
Interesting contruction, but in the end, a bit earnest and bearing too many of the marks of quentin tarantino. thats not to say its a big step forward for mexican cinema, but alphonso cuaron is perhaps simply more my speed than inarritu.
there are a few moments in this film that reach beyond the rest of what the rest is doomed to. that and the music of gustavo santolalla which gives you a sense that the movie is somehow better than it actually is.
still worth a watch though.
