Review of Amores Perros (2000) by Spyros T — 24 Oct 2011
A deep, thought-provoking and utterly enthralling film heavy on story -too heavy, some will say, and rich with character and atmosphere, that you will not soon forget. It's a hyperviolent film against violence, a graphic portrayal of infidelity in the name of marriage, a tale of murderous sibling rivalry in the name of family and above all an Old Testament God, punishing those who would get too confident with their future plans or their seemingly inviolable present success, but in the end all three stories despite the melodramatic and tragic outcome still leave you with a shade of hope.
As "Deadwoods's" Al Swearengen said, "Announcing your plans is a good way to hear God laugh".
