Amores Perros (2000): Directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu (21 Grams, Babel, Biutiful), this drama filmed in Mexico is a must see. Fate is the underlying theme throughout the film as it details three extremely different people's stories and how they collide with a horrific accident.
Although the camera work is a bit too shaky for my taste; the story, acting, and musical score written by Gustavo Santaolalla make this a truly remarkable film. The film features a young and upcoming Gael García Bernal (Motorcycle Diaries, Babel) who does an amazing job as well as actor Emilio Echevarría (Y Tu Mamá También).
"R" rating, 154 minute runtime, Spanish with English Subtitles.
