Review of Amityville II: The Possession (1982) by Shiela E — 15 Aug 2014
A very frustrating movie to watch after the first because of how unlikeable this new family is. The dad is an abusive tool, the mom is a ditzy bimbo, and the children are little incest-ing bastards. For some reason, the main focus is now on the son, who looks a little bit like Mick Jagger, and that's kind of distracting.
Getting past that, it's a very odd shift of focus, seeing as how the dad is strongest one in the family. Eh, whatever. Anyways, while the first Amityville Horror had it's own thing going on, this movie definitely shows it's Exorcist-envy, and even has a little Evil Dead mixed in.
There's just so much odd things in this movie, but it's just moves along so well, you can't point them out! Okay, I'm getting overheated here. To conclude, the sequel to the Amityville Horror does not fully suck.
