Review of Amistad (1997) by Adam Z — 12 Dec 2008
The story of Cinque deserves more attention in today's schools, and Djimon Hounsou is spellbinding in a breakthrough performance. Morgan Freeman's "Joadson" character seems out of place, but all is redeemed by Anthony Hopkins and his performance as Adams, giving one of the great courtroom speeches ever captured on film.
