The characters are rich and the performances are satisfying. Great attention to detail also makes this film well-crafted and cinematically impressive. Where the movie is lacking is in the central narrative.
I wish that instead of prodding along, the movie should've spent more effort in creating a focused, unique point of view. Great history lesson, not-so-great story-telling.
