Review of American Wedding (2003) by Rainer K — 24 Apr 2012
Unbelievable but I've seen this film only once before.
I had in pretty bad memory - something I can't understand after rewatching it. Although it's not as entertaining as the first two films it still is funny on most occasions (when it doesn't get too over-the-top) and some ideas are carried out very well (Finch and Stifler swapping personalities or the gay bar dance are just hilarious). Also, American Wedding has an awesome soundtrack, again (the first filmt that features the franchise's signature tune "Laid").
However, some choices they took were really bad. Turning Stifler into a complete douchebag instead of the somehow likable, raunchy jock (which Seann William Scott somehow still pulls off amazingly well) or some of the really overly-gross moments (if you've seen it you know what I mean) for example.
I still regard it as a worthy last part of the original trilogy and I wonder how Reunion will do connect with it.
