I don't get all the negativity about American Ultra. While it's an underdeveloped, forgettable film, it's enjoyable enough that I sat through it with a smile on my face.

This is a one trick pony that is good for about an hour and 39 minutes, but their schtick manages to power its way through one film. There shouldn't be a sequel. The biggest problem is that they took an original idea and failed to make it a unique movie. Whoever wrote American Ultra missed a number of potential jokes and angles that could have made it much better. The little drag during the film quickly subsided as the story progressed.

I've watched Eisenberg come up through independent films into mainstream, and he's not making the best movie choices. That's not to say he's not picking horrible films, I would just like to see him do more series films. Movies that are fitting of his talents. Eisenberg does make American Ultra work and helps make it better. He and Kristen Stewart do have great chemistry. I also got to see some actors I like but don't see much of anymore, John Leguizamo and Topher Grace.

Although I wouldn't tell anyone to go spend their money on American Ultra, it'll be enjoyable on a movie channel down the road.
