Review of American Ultra (2015) by Chris U — 22 Aug 2015

Let me start off this review by stating that I did not originally intend to see this movie. The trailer wasn't really that appealing to me but through clever marketing and friends, I decided to give it a chance.

Lesson learned. Go with my gut. There is literally no redeeming quality to this movie. I wasted 2 hours. The script is boring and a mishmash of trying to be badass and funny, it's not. I was intrigued at the beginning but the more the movie continued, the quicker I wanted it to end.

Maybe the fact that I can never see Jesse Eisenberg as anything like this made the movie worse for me but then we have Topher Grace who was a character that doesn't even make logical sense. John Leguazamo was the only character that was at least funny and "realistic.

" Do not waste your time on this uneven movie that has no flow, substance, or quality.
