Man this movie got some bad reviews! I guess people just hate fun. If the plot seems outlandish, read the Wikipedia for the CIA's MKUltra program and all the film's insanity will be put in perspective.
That said, though the ultraviolence of the third act turns the film into a bloody blur, it's anchored by a really sweet love story between Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart's characters (and anchored by their great performances as well).
