I think it could have been better. It unsuccessfully attempted to veer into dramatic territory a few times, and that kind of ruined the tone of the movie for me. I am big on maintaining a consistent tone throughout a movie, so thats why this annoyed me.

Others might not mind the switch, but I did not. It has a lot of good humor in it and the action scenes are not bad either. The constant bringing up of his stupid ape comic annoyed me, though. I wish that had been removed altogether.
