In this film age of studios trying to make actions stars out of, well everyone, American Ultra is no different. Hell over a decade after they tried to make Owen Wilson one, they're trying yet again ha.
This time they're trying to do it with 3 of the most farfetched actors, Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart, and Topher Grace. The only one that somewhat pulls it off is surprisingly Eisenberg, actually no not surprisingly.
Topher Grace needs to just float back into obscurity and Kristen Stewart needs to stop acting altogether. Now however contradicting this may be this wasn't her worse acting job by far, in fact she's somewhat likable in this film.
Trying to make Topher into a villian was a fail. Should have taken notes from Spiderman 3, you can't buy into him as a villian, he's Eric Foreman for God sakes. The movie is kind of all over the place and the nice addition of John Leguizamo (sp.
) helps the comedic appeal. All in all the action sequences are very well pulled off and coordinated, which saves the film from a horrible rating.
