Review of American Ultra (2015) by Ryan J — 10 Sep 2015
Eisenberg is quite miscast as a small town stoner, madly in love and wanting to move out of the small town but his anxiety won't let him. One night a lady comes in and says some words which awakens something inside him.
What he finds out is that he was and still is a highly trained killer, with the CIA after him. This film could have been quite good under better hands, it plays out like Dude Where's My Bourne Identity.
A bit juvenile, the action is brutal but the comedy falls very flat. Stewart is good, Goggins is good with what he is given, Grace is pathetic.
