Review of American Ultra (2015) by Tony G — 28 Dec 2015
American Ultra, is a film I passed on when it was in theaters. As it was marketed as some dumb stoner spy movie, possibly to catch the craze with current movies out like Kingsmen, The man from U.N.C.L.E., or bridge of spys.
After finding an absolutely amazing poster for the film I felt compelled to watch it myself. and by golly did it deliver. American Ultra was a modern day mass audience art film. One that is sure to become a cult classic. Starring Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart, American Ultra is like Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind and Natural Born Killers somehow met at a high school dance and really hit off so they took it out back AND Just JesUS WAtcH THE MOVIE! 9.5/10.
And that's only because the very little computer animated stuff that's in the movie, looks really not real. but that's like, 4 seconds worth of shots of basically and airplane. so yeah. no big D.
ADDED: upon further looking up the film and how they describe it on like, Wikipedia. it makes it sound like the dumbest thing ever. so just watch it yourself and don't worry about other peoples opinions. I went into it knowing LITERALLY almost nothing except for what I knew from the crappy trailers and an awesome movie poster.
