The first 30 minutes or so of American Ultra are actually quite captivating. It's almost the mystery that builds is so weird in itself that there is just a good reason to keep watching. But when it's just a reason for Stoner Bourne, the movie just unravels.
Not that the implausibility really matters, it just gets boring and looses the zaniness.
