Review of American Translation (2011) by Ws W — 25 Mar 2012

The male lead is decent but not as threatening as the role requires, the female lead is excellent. The film keeps getting interesting, then stopping for another scene of driving about in a van. The whole film is like this - brilliant, dire, brilliant, dire.

I think I will see it again and still enjoy it, but it's a bit of a wasted opportunity, and I think the back story of the lead characters would probably have been two more interesting films.
