A documentary is a failure for me if I fail to connect with it on any level. I should be relating to these kids, but I don't. I question the ethics of documentary as well. Nanette Burstein KNOWS how to make a documentary (see: "The Kid Stays in the Picture") - but has clearly forgotten.
I hope this doesn't turn into the "Sundance Hit That Could".
