Review of American Teen (2008) by Benjamin P — 10 Oct 2009
In the first 10 minutes of this, I was like "okay, it's a documentary". But then as the film progressed and the students' lives became more and more stereotypical and predictable, I was like "oh, it's not ACTUALLY a documentary, it's just pretending".
But then, just before the credits rolled, and it tells you what ended up happening to each student I was like, "OMG, it IS a REAL docoumentary?!?". Ugh. My point being: this film felt VERY scripted and I found myself questioning how on earth these people could actually be real, when they seem to be complete stereotypes and almost jokes.
But then I remembered what high school was like for me. Everybody IS like that, and all these predictable dramas do actually happen in real high schools. A good movie and worth the watch. Go Hannah.
