Review of American Splendor (2003) by Jonathan G — 26 Jul 2008
Wow, David Letterman is a fucking tool.
Much more intelligent and fun than Crumb, Pekar is an overall better person, but equally only has a limited amount of talent.
A comic book movie that barely mentions super-heroes, and has no attractive people in it is a tough sell but Giamatti performs wonderfully as does most of the cast in a story that unfolds unconventionally but smoothly.
Check it out if you liked Man on the Moon or Crumb.
