Review of American Splendor (2003) by Javier T — 05 Aug 2008
Amazing story of an amazing man. This biopic is up there with the best. Harvey Pekar has to be one of the most intriguing individuals of our time. His gruff exterior comes off as depressive and harsh, but underneath that is a heart of curiosity about the world, a bluntness and honesty that's rare to find.
It's hard not to love this guy. I could go on for pages about why I enjoyed this movie. Or more to the point, why I respect and honor this man.
