Review of American Splendor (2003) by Pan L — 06 Oct 2009
This rating may upgrade with reflection. I dunno. I enjoyed the movie pretty well, but I think I was expecting more than I got. Harvey is depressingly relatable at times, and it's refreshing to see a well-done movie about someone who's down and out more than up, and doesn't have a fairy tale ending.
I think I just overhyped it to myself, a bit. Giamatti turns in a great performance, as does Friedlander.
