Review of American Splendor (2003) by Rick Q — 22 Aug 2012
There are a lot of cool stylistic choices from the film makers in "american splendor", but I really disliked the moments where they would have the real harvey pekar doing interviews and especially when they showed the actual clips of him on the david letterman show.
paul giamatti does such a great job playing the character, so it's quite annoying he's not always playing him. it also completely takes you out of the moment. aside from giamatti, there is also a great performance from hope davis, and it might be the best i've ever seen from her.
