Why do we watch war-time movies? To see bravery, idealism, brotherhood.. American Sniper has none of these. All you'll find is a not very smart man (which Bradley Cooper plays wonderfully, he even lost the light in his eyes) go through war pretty much on his own and without much insight.
It's corny and full of cliches. The "Do it for Dinggles" -or Bo Jangles whatever the guy's nickname was- line, really finished sinking the movie for me. Seth Rogen was right about the Propaganda comment, specially the last 20 mins.
