Review of American Sniper (2014) by Jacob C — 18 Jan 2016
86/100 - What could have been a standard war film is something far greater. This is not perfect, but American Sniper gets the big things right. Cooper's performance is among the best of his career to date, especially towards the end of the film.
Also, Eastwood's direction fits the film's tone well, in particular during the combat scenes. He only allows us to see what the soldiers could, which proves very effective at the film's climax.
This is a worthy and fitting tribute to Kyle's life and service.
