Review of American Reunion (2012) by Joanna C — 31 Oct 2012
This looked like it would be a great sequel to the original "American Pie" films. But, upon watching it, I'm reminded why I only enjoyed the original "American Pie" films until I made it to my Junior year.
The humor is sophomoric and has always been (to be fair, it's intended to be). What really bothered me about this movie is that it introduced absolutely nothing new. It was more of the same "dick & fart" jokes.
The only redeeming factor of this movie, as well as the reason for the "2-Stars," was the surprisingly good performance given by Seann William Scott (Stifler). Regardless of what trailer makes you think (or the poster for that matter), this movie is all about the redemption of Steve Stifler.
And, for once, we find ourselves cheering for this oft obnoxious character.
