Review of American Reunion (2012) by Eric M — 19 Jan 2013
For what it is, American Reunion is trip down good old memory lane that reminds you what you liked about the American Pie movies. You got Jim being awkward, Finch being all knowing, and Stifler being..
..Stifler. Although the movie certainly has its laugh out loud moments, mostly due to Sean William Scott and the always great Eugene Levy as Jim's dad who both make the movie, American Reunion is more of a nostalgic trip than a movie that can stand on its own.
No doubt, fans of the franchise will indeed enjoy this and the film is indeed more in the spirit of the first film but in the end American Reunion plays it more safe rather than trying to hit a home run.
3 out of 5 stars.
