Review of American Reunion (2012) by Donny D — 19 Nov 2012
This was most certainly a blast from my younger years and a rush of those good ol' memories. If it wasn't for that, this movie would have been far less enjoyable as this one was missing a little something. The movie re-unites the gang as they are back in their hometown to attend this high school reunion...and wild situations and hilarity occur. The cast was refreshing as they brought back practically, if not, everyone from the original movie. They did not mesh as well as before but they were serviceable. Once again, Stifler (Seann William Scott) is the life and the main focal point of the humour.
The plot was fairly standard and straightforward, just the situations and occurences around it are a little outlandish. This one plays out similar to the others as the story mainly surrounds Jim (Jason Biggs) and Stifler. Things go wrong and then things get better, as simple as that. It is an enjoyable movie with quite the bits of humour but it just felt like it was missing something, Maybe I expected too much or maybe it did not have the original flare. Decent watch, almost a must see if you enjoyed the original two.
