Review of American Reunion (2012) by Lewis T — 30 Sep 2012
Finally, we get one more chance to see the original group again. After the past three straight to dvd slices tasting overdone, its time to go back to the start. This film has a good chance of being the funniest film of the year and of the franchise. With Jim, Kevin, Finch, Oz and Steve all returning as well as their classmates the film will hopefully retain its edge over the other slices in the likeability and ability to connect with the characters. Lets hope they haven't ran out of ideas and please, don't make this a setup for more spinoffs.
Post Watching the film:
I must say I really was impressed with this film. They did justice to the original trilogy and managed to balance out the screen time effectively enough as to enable all the characters to be (reasonably) fleshed out in a way comparable to Avengers: Assemble.
Although it's sexual and immature jokes might not appeal to everyone, if you liked the rest of the series or films like it, then this is deffinately worth a watch. It makes a great end to the franchise, and although it probably wouldn't be a good idea, at the back of my mind I'm kind've hoping for one more slice.
