This review will serve as a contradiction of the review given here. The movie, based on Bret Easton Ellis's satire of the Yuppy American Buisnessman is most certainly a movie worth viewing. While many argue that it is not completely faithful to the book, one could point to the fact that the books detailed brutality would not have merrited more than a snuff film, for those without a sense of humour.

The lack of detailed narrative on peoples clothing being a welcome change from the book to film. While not all of the characters are memorable people, Bale and Defoe aside, there are several scenes which will stay with you.

By the end of your viewing anytime anyone mentions a buisness card ever again you should be in hysterics. As a film, its biggest positive is it leaves you to decide yourself what has happened. If you enjoy your dark humour it is one to watch, but if you can't stand a little blood (thus perversing an accurate view of the movie), its probably best you keep away from this one.
