Review of American Psycho (2000) by Mark M — 02 Oct 2014
While it is a rather faithful adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis' original novel and an excellent social critique, American Psycho suffers from the crippling novel-to-movie adaptation problems which more often than not, leave out important aspects of a story during conversion.
For American Psycho, despite having the talented Christian Bale in the lead, important and interesting narrative aspects - which were left out - were needed to keep the movie fresh without recycling the same things over and over again.
