Review of American Psycho (2000) by Jacob M — 11 Jan 2014
A 5/5. This should be a 5/5 and be in maybe my top ten favorite movies. The black humor was funny, Chritian Bale's performance was phenominally unnerving, and it was all tieing together so well up until the ending.
Now I'm going to give you a SPOILER ALERT! so not to ruin it for other people but the twist was one of the worst I have seen in all movie history. Everything was being built up, Bale was killing more and more people, people were beginning to get suspicious, and then he was caught and began running from the police.
It was a fun and very funny joy-ride that I wish I could have enjoyed the entire way through until that twist at the end. It turns out that he actaully never killed anyone at all, it was all in his head.
WHAT! So what your telling me is that everyhting I cared about during this movie, all the nerves all the feel;ings were for nothing. This is what made this one get bumped down a couple of stars. This ruined it for me and I wish it could have done better than this.
