Review of American Pop (1981) by Sabrina R — 05 Jul 2007
A haunting and beautiful examination of the arc of American history and culture viewed through the lens of four generations of a family and its love affair with American music. Ralph Bakshi is a visionary of American animation, shirking the kiddie table realm and creating an American animated film with mature artisic perspective.
The visual artisty of the film paired with the music that has defined American culture at times is enough to yield tears. An essential American film classic.
