Review of American Pop (1981) by Sean P — 15 Aug 2014
Ralph Bakshi's attempt at a film of his admiration for pop music feels incredibly choppy and unfinished. Telling the story of many timelines and lives, American Pop gives little to no time exploring the many lives it dives into.
However the rotoscope animation is incredibly well made and the music choices were well put. However the magic is taken away by short lived scenes and little to know development of it's characters.
