Review of American Pie Presents: Beta House (2007) by Barry L — 18 Mar 2010
This installment is like a reversed version of Revenge of the Nerds crossed with Animal House, only void of most of the humor and charm of those films. Here, the Geeks, a fraternity are the villains, to the animalistic Beta House. Erik Stifler returns from the previous installment, which is a positive.
Not to make the other two films seem like their high quality cinema, but this one was extremely hollow. I was disinterested in the whole thing and didn't really care for what was at stake. However, there are some gut busting laughs in this one, including one joke that had me rewinding I thought it was so funny.
Eugene Levy of course gets his three scene cameo in the movie, doing the same damn shit, except, thankfully, he didn't reference Jim or the original movies. Boobage factor was better than the first, not as good as the last. This one felt especially cheap.
