Review of American Pie (1999) by Cam M — 11 Dec 2012
Ah what memories! I was in Year 11 when American Pie hit the cinemas and this movie had a way of resonating with my group of friends as we were the misfits depicted in the film. While we didn't enter into any pacts like our characters do, we could still relate to it all.
So, Jim and his friends make a deal with each other to make sure they're not virgins after prom night. This sees them all go about things in different ways, from joining a choir to get closer to a girl, to spreading rumours about themselves or learning new ways to please their girlfriend, or sneaking up on them whilst 'changing' in the bedroom! The original American Pie still stands as the most funny of the series before things got too Stifler-centric and more crude/vulgar.
