The movie tugs at your emotions, and the story is nicely framed by the writer back in town from Europe for a high school reunion. And the period sets, props, and costumes are nice along with the recalling of the social upheaval in the 1960's.
Outside of that, the plot is ridiculous, and fails the test of suspending disbelief.
