This movie talks about how the Mexicans live in East Side Los Angeles. It is the year 1943. Pedro Santana (Sal Lopez) and Esperanza Santana (Vira Montes) have a date. It was the night of the Zoot- Suit riots then when they were walking down the street. The Sailors grabbed them on the side of the street and did so many things to them that you wouldn't do to a animal.

Then in 1969 Santana (Edward James Olmos) is sixteen years old and He goes to get his friends from their houses to talk to them about the gang. Santana and Mundo (Pepe Serna) go and pick up his friends at the grave yard and they welcome him to the gang. They are walking home and an other gang crew saw them and got scared. They run home. A week later they went to Jail for breaking into a store.

Now it's in the 1970s. They are all grown up and they want to make some money. So they want to be Drug Dealers. Two weeks later his friend'ss brother Puppet (Danny De La Paz) is getting married and Santana makes a deal with a guy at the party. Seconds later the cops come and took Santana away to jail. Puppet's brother Little Puppet (Daniel Villarreal) is getting out of jail and he has to kill him for the gang. It is the last day for Santana to live and he's ready to die. He is looking at the pictures that he has on his wall thinking that the life he has was not the right one. The cell cage open and his group the Mexican Mafia said to him time to die. They stab him in the stomach many times and he dies right there in jail.

I like this movie because it talks about how the Mexicans survive in East Side Los Angeles. This movie makes me feel sad in the end because most of the characters die. This movie makes me feel sad in the end because Most of the pope die.
