Review of American Mary (2013) by B. W — 02 Oct 2013
I loved American Mary. Perhaps every one else is far too obtuse to understand the quality of the film making and the recognition of body modification. American Mary is a phenomenal example of a true intelligent, yet slightly twisted, female heroine that is her own villain.
It provides a window into the challenges that many successful yet darker attractive women face. Women with darker styles that are intelligent often are perceived as "asking for it", clearly Mary was not asking for it, but was happy to give it straight back to them.
Younger generation will appreciate this film, for in today's economy it is not as simple and easy to make a living. Failure is rarely an option, especially for women.
