Timing is everything. After watching the first 2 seasons of Narcos recently, I couldn't help but feel parts of this story were pretty familiar already. Along with an emotionally flat script and subdued performance from Cruise, this was a good action and adventure flick, but without much depth to make it into much more.
A solid effort, but it probably won't stand the test of time. And for the life of me, I couldn't quite figure out why all the different camera looks and color grades. I'm guessing it was a play on Seal's confession tapes, but it felt so irregular and random.
