Barry Seal was a TWA pilot who was recruited by the CIA to survey activity in Central America. He made contact with Noriega and Escobar, flying from Louisiana to Medellin. His reckless maverick attitide led to the largest drug cartel in history, the Iran-Contra affair, and a large money laundering operation.
Tom Cruise makes one conniving little little man in a fucked up pool. Doug Liman balances derring do with little comedy extremely well. Ultimately, American Made is an only in America tale of illicit wealth and fortune.
