Too bad Cruise, Liman and Universal didn't give us the truth that they really wanted to tell. Barry Seal was a major player in the CIA and the drug trafficking game waaaaay before the movie was allowed to tell us, with alleged ties to a certain infamous assassination.
I'm gonna go out on a sturdy limb and say that representatives of some very powerful people reached out to those involved with this project and told them in very certain terms that it would not be in their best interest to tell the REAL Barry Seal story.
