Tom Cruise plays Tom Cruise. He's really good at it. He dominates the movie totally. He plays Barry Seal as a lovable rogue who lives by the seat of his pants.Tom wants you to root for him. In reality Seal was an irredeemable drug running low life scumbag but this is the movies.
The rest feels familiar with TV shows like Narcos covering similar ground. It splices real life footage with fictional characters and tries to explain the stupidity of US foreign policy in Central America.Not very original but OK.We know all this already.
