Review of American Made (2017) by George G — 29 Sep 2017

Since this was loosely based upon the real life adventures of Barry Seal and his clandestine work with the CIA, I expected a compelling story with action and drama and suspense .... what one would expect based upon drug running and dealing with drug kingpins.

What I saw was a movie with cliches and glib dialogue and reflected little of what one would expect to see with such a complex drug and arms trafficing operation. It looks like the director thought he could just have Tom Cruise ham it up all through the movie and we would enjoy it. Wrong, wrong, wrong. I would not recommend this movie to anyone. Go watch a rerun of Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible, if you really have to see a movie with Tom Cruise.
